Making Healthy Choices When You Shop
Healthy eating starts with smart food shopping. Here are a few pointers on how to shop healthy on your next trip to the store.
1. Plan ahead. Ma
pping out the meals and snacks you’d like to have for the week not only helps cut down on the time it takes to shop but it helps you stay away from impulse purchases.
2. Don’t shop hungry! Having a snack before you hit the markets will curb your desire to buy ready-to-eat items like candy and boxed snacks.
3. Buy healthy, convenient items. Carrot sticks and 100 calorie packs are just as easy to grab on the go as other snack foods.
